Yep that is a Stingray mouth plate! As to the genus, i can't confirm that it is from Myliobatis but i have seen a lot of stingray mouth plate fossils from Morocco that are identified as Myliobatis sp, that look exactly like your one, so it probably is.

I believe this might be a stingray dermal plate, but would like other opinions. Found at: Stump Pass Beach near Englewood, Florida. Length: 7/8 inch. Width: 1/2 inch. Height: 1/4 inch. It appears to have had a taller portion which has been broken off (see darker area on top of fossil) Many thanks for your help, folks!
